The bell rings, and we're ready to kick things off in this one. Kofi comes out with right hands and forearms, he ducks a clothesline and connects with a couple of low kicks and another big kick to the side of McIntyre's head, before sending him over the top rope with a big clothesline. Kofi follows Drew out to the floor with a suicide dive through the ropes. McIntyre fights back and makes it into the ring, but Kofi comes right back with a big jumping lariat. McIntyre rolls to the outside, but Kofi brings him back up to the ring apron, where McIntyre shoves Kofi into the ring post.

McIntyre takes Kingston back into the ring where he pounds on him in the corner for a little while before the ref breaks it up. Drew hits a low knee to Kofi's midsection before hitting a modified gutbuster. McIntyre locks in a modified rear chin lock and grounds Kofi on the mat. Kofi fights out of it and up to his feet, taking McIntyre over with a big hip toss. Both men are up to their feet, and Kofi hits McIntyre with a couple of right hands before catching a boot to the stomach. McIntyre tries for a cover but only gets two. McIntyre beats on Kofi's head for a bit before getting up and stomping down on Kingston's head. Drew goes to the middle rope and jumps off, but Kingston gets his feet up and connects with McIntyre's face.

Both men are up and they slug it out, with Kofi getting the advantage. Kofi splashes McIntyre up in the corner and rains down with left and right hands before hitting a nice European uppercut. Kingston ends up on the second rope and he kicks McIntyre before going up to the top. Kofi hits a leaping cross body for a near fall. McIntyre gets Kofi up into a fireman's carry and hits a single knee gutbuster that's good for a two count. Kofi sends McIntyre shoulder first into the steel ring post before kicking straight into McIntyre's ribs and hitting the boom drop in the corner. Kofi goes for the cover, but McIntyre kicks out at two.

Kofi tries for Trouble in Paradise but Drew ducks. McIntyre tries for his DDT, but Kofi counters with the SOS. Kofi goes for the pin and gets the three count.

Winner and NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion: Kofi Kingston

After the match, Drew McIntyre grabs a mic and calls out for Teddy Long. He says he's only going to say this once. This PPV will stop right now until Teddy Long gets out and reverses the decision. Matt Hardin's music hits, and he makes his way out to the ring. He stares down McIntyre, ducks a clothesline, and hits a twist of fate on Drew. Hardy poses for the crowd to a nice pop.

Backstage:

CM Punk is backstage looking into a mirror. He asks who's the purest of them all, Gallows says Punk. He asks who the savior is for all these Detroit hooligans, and Gallows and Serena say Punk. He asks who leaves purity intact tonight, and they say Punk. Punk says he'll have Mysterio by his side, and that he'll be joining them tonight. Gallows looks upset, but Punk says it's for the greater good, and that tonight, they give birth to straight edge Mysterio. Gallows hugs Punk while Punk smiles into the mirror.

R-Truth vs. Ted DiBiase w/Virgil

We get a quick video recap of the short backstage segment that led to this match. R-Truth is out to the ring first doing his rapping schtick, for which he gets a nice pop. Dibiase's music hits, and he makes his way out to the ring with Virgil in tow, and of course wearing the Million Dollar Title.

The bell rings, and both men lock up. Truth tries for the go behind, but Dibiase catches his arm. Truth turns it around, but finds himself backed up into the corner. Truth goes to punch Dibiase, but Ted goes between the ropes and the ref breaks it up. Dibiase catches Truth with a side head lock, and goes back to work on the arm, but Truth turns it right around. Dibiase slaps Truth across the face, and Truth responds with one of his own. Truth pounds on Dibiase against the ropes, and the ref has to break it up again. Truth ducks a clothesline, and hits a kick to Dibiase's head. Truth sends Dibiase to the floor with a clothesline over the top. On the outside, Truth confronts Dibiase, then turns around and slaps Dibiase before sending him back into the ring.

Virgil is able to distract Truth, allowing Dibiase to hit a neckbreaker on Truth. Dibiase tosses Truth to the outside, he follows and immediate drives him back first into the barricade before sending him right back in. Truth tries to fight back, but Dibiase takes him up and stomach first down to the mat. Dibiase kicks away at Truth in the corner, but Truth comes right back. Truth goes into the ropes, but Dibiase follows to confuse him, and then hits a clothesline, sending him down to the mat. Dibiase locks in a rear chin lock.

Truth fights up to his feet, but Dibiase responds with a belly to back suplex to take Truth right back down. Dibiase goes to the second rope and he tries for a double ax handle smash, but Truth catches him with a punch to the stomach. Truth places Dibiase on the top rope, and asks the crowd what's up. Dibiase fights out of the superplex attempt, but Truth comes right back, hitting the ropes and making Ted crotch himself. Truth comes in with a couple of clotheslines and a big hip toss, following up with a flatliner that's good for a two count. Truth tries for the axe kick, but Dibiase avoids it, and hits a huge electric chair drop that's good for a two count.

Truth is able to take Dibiase down to the mat, but Dibiase goes right for the ropes and the ref is forced to break it. Truth hits a weird modified stunner that's good for another near fall. Truth hits a big corkscrew elbow, and pins Dibiase, getting the three count.

Winner: R-Truth

Backstage:

Teddy Long is on the phone, he says things are going great and he can't wait to see John Cena vs. Batista. McIntyre is in and he demands that Long change the results of the match. Long says he can't do that. Drew says he will, and he'll also fire Matt Hardy right now. Long says he won't. McIntyre starts destroying the office. He looks over at a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. and Long pleads with him to not destroy it. McIntyre says he wants it to stay, because he's a leader. And Long is spineless and gutless, because McIntyre is more like King than Long will ever be. We get an awkward camera shot of Long next to the picture of MLK Jr.

We get a video package, mainly focusing on the last few weeks of this feud, and the events that have led up to Mysterio vs. CM Punk match, and this particular stipulation.

S.E.S. Pledge vs. Hair Match

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

There is a barber chair, and just so carefully places bottles of Gillette shaving cream next to ringside, like, literally next to the ring.

CM Punk is out to the ring first without Serena or Gallows, because apparently all outside parties have been banned from ringside. Punk looks at the barber's chair, and shakes his finger no, saying it won't happen. Punk doesn't get any mic time in front of the crowd, as Mysterio's music hits, and he's out in a very yellow get-up, to a very loud pop. Mysterio picks up the clippers, and Punk holds up his right hand for the pledge.

The bell rings, and Punk tries talking to Mysterio, trying to get him to pledge. Rey puts his hand up, and Punk attacks, laying into Mysterio with boots in the corner. Mysterio fights back when Punk backs off for a second, and he beats on Punk in the corner, but Punk is quick to turn it around. Punk sends Mysterio into the ropes and catches a boot to the chest, but Mysterio in turn ends up launched over the top rope with a back body drop out to the floor. Punk tries to dive over the top rope, but Rey moves. Mysterio runs into the ring, and comes right back out with a hurricarana to the floor. **NOTE** The plan going into the WWE Over the Limit pay-per-view was for John Cena to beat Batista in their "I Quit" match to retain the WWE Championship. Of course, that did happen. According to a source, this was Batista's last match with WWE and he is indeed leaving the company. Our sources tell us Batista is finished "at least for now" so obviously the door is not shut for a return later this year which is something representatives for Batista have maintained will happen.
